Tell us about your business.
Our company name is Sierra Precision Optics. We’re a laser optics manufacturing facility that’s been in business 17 years. From off-the-shelf optics to fully-specialized prototypes, Sierra takes great pride in being one of the fastest and most cost-effective optics manufacturers in the industry.
What was your initial reaction when you connected with First Northern Bank?
When we first came up and bought the company, it was rough. When we connected with First Northern Bank, the stress level was immediately gone.
How has the bank helped your business to grow?
First Northern has worked with us on a lot of our machinery and capital equipment. We routinely hear from the bank asking if there is anything they can do to help – which in large part has helped us to get where we are today. Plus, they bring cookies!
What matters most to you in a bank?
First Northern is an agile-sized ship like we are. We can navigate and move around as the industry requires us to. I’ve found that with First Northern, it has been very easy to pivot if we need something changed or to quickly talk to a real person who understands my business.
What’s next for your business?
We’re firm believers that you must keep up with the industry and make production easier and more efficient. We’ve certainly never been opposed to buying new equipment to accomplish that goal. First Northern has been right there alongside us the entire way.
